Policy and Industry Development Officer, mRNA Victoria
• Salary: $113,022 - $136,747 plus superannuation
• Fixed term role to 30 June 2027

The Role
The Policy and Industry Development Officer at mRNA Victoria will support the delivery of strategic policy, grant and industry development initiatives that contribute to building Victoria's mRNA and biotechnology capability. The role is suited to a candidate with demonstrated experience in policy support, grant program delivery, governance coordination and stakeholder engagement within complex environments.
Working across a broad range of projects, the successful applicant will contribute to policy analysis, project delivery and governance activities supporting mRNA Victoria's strategic partnerships and industry development objectives. The role requires strong conceptual and analytical capability, excellent communication skills and a passion for innovation, health technologies and advanced manufacturing.
Main Accountabilities
• Support the design and delivery of projects and programs related to mRNA research and industry development, including grant administration and contract management.
• Develop high-quality briefs on complex issues, providing options and recommendations for decision-making.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the objectives of mRNA Victoria.
• Support governance arrangements, meetings, events and presentations, including agendas, coordination, correspondence and minutes.
• Work collaboratively within a small team to support implementation of the strategic direction of mRNA Victoria.
The Team
The position of Policy and Industry Development Officer forms a part of mRNA Victoria within the Industry, Trade and Investment group.
The Industry, Trade and Investment group works closely with businesses locally and globally to grow Victorian jobs, drive innovation and increase Victoria's international competitiveness. mRNA Victoria is leading the Victorian Government's commitment to delivering a world-class Australian mRNA vaccine and therapeutic industry through investment, research translation, manufacturing and supply chain development initiatives.
About You
You will bring demonstrated experience delivering projects, grants or programs within government or a similarly complex environment, including planning, implementation, reporting and administration. You will have highly developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across government, industry and research sectors.
You will also possess sound governance knowledge and problem-solving capability, with experience preparing briefs, reports and other documentation on complex issues within a public sector or comparable context.
