About The Role
3 x ongoing Planner roles.
As a Planner, you’ll play a key role in delivering the Minister for Planning’s statutory responsibilities. You’ll assess planning scheme amendments, prepare ministerial briefs and correspondence, and provide high-quality advice on planning matters. The role also involves building strong relationships with local government, other agencies and development proponents, while contributing expertise to major projects and planning reforms.
This position is ideal for someone with statutory or strategic planning experience who can balance technical detail with an understanding of the broader policy and political context. You’ll work on medium-complexity projects, mentor junior staff, and support outcomes that shape Victoria’s places and communities.
What you’ll bring
You have a relevant tertiary qualification in planning or a related field, and experience in statutory or strategic land use planning, ideally within Victoria. You’re confident navigating planning legislation, writing reports and briefs, and providing advice to decision-makers.
Your communication and stakeholder skills are strong — you tailor your approach to different audiences, build constructive relationships, and collaborate across teams to solve problems. You’re adaptable, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and clarity in your work.
