KSC 1 - Physiotherapy Expertise
Demonstrated experience as a Physiotherapist in delivering comprehensive, evidence-based services to children or young people with complex physical and developmental needs, including assessment, program planning, intervention, equipment prescription and evaluation in a special or inclusive education setting.
KSC 2 - Knowledge and Experience with Disability and High Support Needs
Demonstrated experience, knowledge or strong interest in working with students with disabilities, including intellectual disability and high physical support needs, and supporting physiotherapy program development that enhances access, mobility and participation at school.
KSC 3 - Collaborative Practice and Capacity Building
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, building positive and collaborative relationships with teachers, education support staff, families and external providers. Demonstrated ability to provide training and coaching to staff, including safe manual handling and facilitation of physiotherapy programs.
KSC 4 - Organisation, Documentation and Service Delivery
Demonstrated ability to manage workload, meet established school timelines and priorities, and maintain accurate documentation, including physiotherapy programs, student profiles, progress notes, reports for funding, and equipment prescription.
KSC 5 - Professional Learning, Reflective Practice and Values Alignment
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning, clinical supervision and reflective practice, with the ability to adapt to change, use problem-solving skills, and uphold the values and expectations of the Victorian Department of Education, including Child Safe Standards.
KSC 6 - Hydrotherapy and Aquatic Physiotherapy Participation
Demonstrated willingness and physical capacity to participate in school-based aquatic physiotherapy programs, including attending scheduled aquatic physiotherapy sessions and being in the water to support student physiotherapy programs. Ability to work safely within an aquatic environment and collaborate with staff to deliver aquatic physiotherapy as a core component of the physiotherapy service.
Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
Manage the delivery of support services to students, teachers, parents and other school clients.
Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
Mandatory Requirement - Current AHPRA registration as a Physiotherapist.
