About the Role:
This is a Fixed Term, full-time position to cover Parental Leave until March 2028, at 80 hours per fortnight within the Pharmacy Department.
You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services through medication dispensing, stock management, impresting, sterile and non-sterile manufacturing of medications. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-focused care.
Internally, this position may otherwise be known and/or referred to as: Rotational Pharmacy Technician (Grade 2).
Classification for this position is in accordance with Award 04 - Health and Allied Services.
This will be classified at TH6 (Pharmacy Technician Grade 2), $65,042.12 per annum, plus superannuation.
What you'll achieve:
Processing prescriptions, including computer entry and assembling items - under the direct supervision of a pharmacist
Preparing and manufacturing non-sterile pharmaceutical products, under the guidance of a supervising pharmacist
Compounding sterile medications
Imprest scanning and delivering of medications to clinical areas
Work as part of the roster for weekends and public holidays
Your skills and experience:
Essential:
Experience as a Pharmacy Technician
Desirable:
Experience working in a busy environment especially those involving working directly with the public
Familiar with Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS)
Completed or working towards Certificate III or IV in Hospital Pharmacy
Certification or experience in manufacturing intravenous solutions and other sterile pharmaceutical products

About the Department:
We are a team of around 70 staff including Pharmacists, Technicians and Administrators. Our supportive and collaborative team includes Outpatients, Children's Cancer Centre, Clinical Pharmacy, Clinical Trials, Medicines Information, Sterile Services and Pharmacy Business Unit.
