About the opportunity
The Partnerships, Sponsorship and Events Advisor is responsible for enhancing the organisation's profile, reputation and stakeholder relationships through the strategic delivery of partnerships, sponsorship and events. The role works across the business with subject matter experts to ensure our energy safety engagement aligns with the corporate strategy, delivers value for money, and is monitored and evaluated for effectiveness. Reporting to the Engagement and Partnerships Manager, the role is also supported by a Stakeholder Engagement Coordinator.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead development, implementation and evaluation of the annual Partnerships, Sponsorship and Events (PSE) Plan.
- Plan and ensure the successful execution of each partnership, sponsorship and event activity in the annual PSE Plan.
- Support the Engagement and Partnerships Manager with Energy Safe committees and key partnerships.
- Assess new PSE opportunities as they arise, considering available budget and resources, and submit recommendations for approval by the Head of Customer and Stakeholder Engagement.
- Leverage each sponsorship activity to maximise value, impact and reach of energy safety messaging with the target audience.
- Maintain public trust and safeguard Energy Safe's reputation by ensuring probity, integrity and transparency in all partnerships, sponsorship, events and stakeholder engagement activities by adhering to organisational policies, government frameworks and relevant legislation.
- Actively manage Energy Safe‘s existing partnerships and initiate and support new partnerships to advance strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the Legal department to ensure Energy Safe memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with partner organisations are current and effective in achieving shared goals.
- Organise Energy Safe stakeholder webinars, workshops, symposiums and other events.
- Support staff attending stakeholder and public events to ensure Energy Safe's presence is visible, professional, confident, with consistent delivery of energy safety information.
- Work with the Strategic Communications department to optimise the organisation's communications channels and collateral around each PSE activity.
- Contribute to the development of an improved stakeholder engagement Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Improvement (MERI) framework, which will include the PSE program.
- Provide regular, consistent and effective communication and reporting on performance including key performance indicators, projects and initiatives.

To be successful, you'll have:
- Capacity to provide expert strategic advice on partnership opportunities, risks, and issues, including the development and implementation of partnership strategies aligned with organisational priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing, managing, and maintaining strategic partnerships with government agencies and other external organisations to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes aligned with strategic plans.
- Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management capability, encompassing the ability to manage complex relationships and conduct negotiations that influence and gain buy-in from partners.
- Outstanding communication skills with a demonstra
ted ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders both verbally and in writing on a range of complex issues, ensuring that communications are clear, concise, targeted and accurate.
- Ability to prepare high-quality reports, submissions, and presentations to support decision-making and communication with senior stakeholders.
- High degree of professionalism and integrity in dealings with colleagues, external stakeholders and customers.
- High level of adaptability, flexibility and autonomy, including the ability to prioritise and deliver against milestones in short time periods
- Partnership brokering training and/or experience. (Desired)
- Engagement Institute (IAP2) credentials. (Desired)
- Previous experience working within government or the public sector. (Desired)
