As an OSHC Coordinator, you will lead your own service, providing trusted before and after school care and holiday programs that support local families. This position requires a motivated individual willing to undertake a range of functions and management of the Outside School Hours Car Service.
The service operates-
Monday ¿ Friday 7:00am ¿ 8.40 am and 03:20pm - 6:00pm during the school term and
Monday ¿ Friday 7:00am ¿ 6.00pm for the Holiday Program
Duties include but are not limited to:
Operate a service (Before, After, Vacation and Curriculum Day) must be in accordance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), Education and Care Services Regulations, service policies, approved provider guidelines, and school procedures.
Ensure the service continues to participate satisfactorily, operate and be aware of changes and updates to the National Qualities Framework
Effectively plan, implement and evaluate a stimulating and diverse program relevant to the developmental needs of children attending the service and have a sound knowledge of the `My Time, Our Place¿ curriculum.
Administer procedures that ensure the health and safety of those using the service
Apply knowledge of legal issues involved in caring for children
Adhering to approved OSHC Cleaning Schedule
Develop and maintain a positive partnership with parents, guardians and family members. This involves appropriate meeting with parents and informing them of any relevant information regarding their child.
Oversee documentation, ratios and daily operations, including staff rosters and Vacation care program planning
Lead and support a team of educators
The person appointed to this position will have the responsibility of managing the OSHC Service and the supervision of all staff employed in the service. This includes ensuring that all staff are familiar with, and adhere to, the NQF and Child Safety Standards legislation and that they participate satisfactorily in relation to these standards.
Administration:
The OSHC Coordinator will be expected to:
Keep accurate records related to the operation of the service as required by the School Council and other relevant Departments.
Keep accident, medical and incident reports as required by National Standards.
Maintain evidence and documentation as part of the NQF for Out of School Hours Care Service
Have knowledge of Qikkids Software (or equivalent program) and ensure all student records and attendances are recorded accurately
In conjunction with the Business Manager be responsible for rostering of staff and purchasing and use of resources effectively, including replenishing and supplying new equipment according to the program needs and budget restraints
Establish and maintain links with the Principal, School Council, School Community, Resource Agencies and other relevant organisations
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications and skills:
Hold a Certificate or Diploma/Advanced Diploma of Children Services/Degree in Early Childhood Education and Care, Primary Education or equivalent.
Valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Card
Current Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Certificate
Approved First Aide Level 2 Qualification
Knowledge of Healthy Eating Guidelines of DET
Police check
Child protection / mandatory reporting training

The Coordinator of the Eastbourne Primary School OSHC must understand that through their participation in the service that they will at times be privy to or acquire information concerning students, staff or other community members and always understand the need for strict confidentiality and sensitivity with regard to this knowledge and information. It is also to be understood that the position is not to confront students or parents over any issue that is outside the parameters of the Out of School Hours Care Service.
