About Us
The Countering Violent Extremism Unit within DJCS coordinates a whole-of-government approach to preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE) in Victoria. Victoria's Strategy for Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism 2025-28 (the PCVE Strategy) provides a framework for Victoria's holistic, long-term approach to PCVE, aligning community and academic partnerships, intervention programs, and evidence-based policy.
Policies and programs delivered under the Strategy aim to address the needs of individuals vulnerable to violent extremism, as well as support primary prevention and enhance social cohesion. The unit includes teams consisting of CVE policy, CVE projects and a CVE Operations team responsible for running early prevention programs for individuals vulnerable to violent extremism.
What you will do
As operations officer, countering violent extremism, you will support early intervention programs that help keep Victorian communities safe.
You will provide operational and administrative support across the countering violent extremism unit while helping teams deliver key government priorities.

About you
A qualification or experience in community services, social work, criminology, psychology, youth justice or a related social science field is desirable. You should also be comfortable working with sensitive information and people experiencing complex circumstances.
