The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Operations Manager to provide strong operational leadership at the Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC).
About the Business Unit
Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) is a 954-bed maximum-security facility for unsentenced male offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region. The facility includes three mainstream accommodation units, two protection units, two management units, and several spaces for those who require additional supports such as vulnerable prisoners, and prisoners at risk.
About the Role
As Operations Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of MRC, driving safe, effective and contemporary custodial practices while contributing to the strategic direction and continuous improvement of the prison.
You will lead a diverse team of custodial and non-custodial staff and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the effective management of prisoners and delivery of integrated services.
This is a high-impact leadership role requiring sound judgement, strong stakeholder management and a contemporary understanding of prisoner management, security and the unique needs of a remand population.
