The Portable Long Service Authority (the Authority) is a self-funded statutory body established to administer the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018. The Act, together with the Long Service Benefits Portability Regulations 2020 provide a Portable Long Service Benefits Scheme. The Authority plays an important role in allowing workers in the community services, contract cleaning and security industries to build up long service benefits based on time in their industry rather than with a single employer. The role provides strategic leadership across employer engagement, complex coverage and compliance matters, service planning, assurance, ensuring employers are supported to meet their obligations under the Long Service Benefits Portability Act 2018 and associated Regulations.
About you
As the Operations Manager you will have,
- Demonstrated experience leading and influencing strategic stakeholders in regulatory, public sector or similarly complex service environment
- Strong leadership capability, experience developing high-performing teams
- Strong capability in managing competing priorities and driving accountability for quality, timeliness and outcomes
- Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy and operational frameworks to complex or disputed matters, exercising sound judgement, managing risk and making decisions
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing briefs, recommendations, guidance and stakeholder communications on complex issues, and the ability to translate technical or regulatory information
- Demonstrated experience leading service improvement, assurance, governance or change initiatives in a complex operations, including the use of data to improve processes and deliver measurable organisational outcomes
