The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Operations Manager, to provide a critical role within Beechworth Correctional Centre.

The Beechworth Correctional Centre is a minimum-security facility with a focus on preparing individuals for release and successful reintegration back into society. It offers various working industries with the men given the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that will effectively link them to employment on release. When not engaged in work, the men attend rehabilitative programs to address their offending behaviour, engage in education and visits whilst many also engage in recreation and community assistance programs.
About the Role
As part of the Beechworth Correctional Centre Senior Management Team, the Operations Manager has responsibility for overseeing all aspects of prisoner management and ensuring that prison policies and procedures are followed. This will include liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that offender management issues and requirements are being met. The role also involves the coordination of information and services to the various areas within the prison, developing and implementing new policies and procedures, and identify and address issues concerning the prison, prisoners, and staff.
