ROLE SUMMARY:
The Operations Business Coordinator (OBC) is a multi-faceted role coordinating administration, office management and management reporting in support of the activities of the Chief Operations Officer (COO), Deputy Chief Officers, and the State Operations Directorate.
The role provides comprehensive executive administrative support and coordination to ensure the effective and efficient management of the COO's calendar and business activity. The role also provides high level business management support to the Operations Directorate including the coordination and preparation for Directorate meetings, minute taking and management reporting, development and coordination across state and regional teams of communication including preparation of briefs, responses to Ministerial requests, Board papers and reporting, budget and financial reporting, and developing presentations for a variety of audiences. This role requires high degrees of self-management along with flexibility to meet the diverse and changing demands of the Directorate, with an expectation to work outside of standard hours from time to time, including occasional weekends, to meet business needs, including meetings/functions with volunteers and relevant stakeholders, along with providing direct support of the team during periods of Emergency (Declared) Operations.

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.
As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
