Murrum Primary School is a new government school open Term 1, 2026, located on wurundjeri country at 90 Elpis Rd, Weir Views, 3338. Murrum is the indigenous woi wurrung word for 'joeys'.
The establishment of this new school in the Melton community supports the increasing enrolment demand from a growing local population. Our location is unique in that the suburb has been developing over several years prior to the school opening, and is relatively close to the bustling CBD of Melton and therefore provides easy access to local community services.
Murrum Primary School opened with places for up to 715 students with enrolments open from Foundation to Year 6. Murrum PS is a Supported Inclusion School providing up to 65 places for students with a diagnosis of Intellectual Disability within the total enrolment. This provides a unique opportunity to open another local school in the Melton community that provides high-quality education for local students, strengthening the already established education provision in this growth area.

Murrum Primary School is co-located with an Early Learning Centre that provides long day and Three-and Four-Year Old Kindergarten programs, supporting families with care needs and a smoother transition to primary school. The Victorian Government-owned centre is run by Early Learning Victoria and provides another unique opportunity of building a professional relationship that strengthens the learning of all students.

SC1 Outstanding financial management skills and demonstrated experience with Department of Education financial processes and procedures, OHS and facilities management processes and procedures, including the capacity to produce and provide advice on financial reports.
SC2 Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead a growing team, collaborate effectively with senior leadership, and manage contractors and external agencies (e.g., VSBA) while fostering a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
SC3 Outstanding proficiency when using Department of Education systems including CASES 21, Edupay, AIMS and Edusafe Plus.
SC4 Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic decision-making within the school by providing advice, information and recommendations to the Principal Team, School Leadership and School Council. Proven capacity in facilities management, negotiating and managing contracts and service agreements.
SC5 Outstanding professional integrity and communication skills, including the capacity to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents and carers in a diverse community.
The Office Manager is a key leadership role within the school¿s Leadership Team and is responsible for the Administration Team. The Team currently includes one full time Administration Officer (Receptionsit) and a full time School Nurse. Reporting to the Principal, the position oversees the smooth, professional operation of reception and administrative services while also providing finance and HR support to the Business Manager when required.
Working with a high degree of autonomy, the role leads day-to-day administrative functions, ensuring efficient, reliable workflows that enable the Business Manager to focus on broader strategic priorities.
The Office Manager also plays an important role in developing and coordinating junior administration staff and contributes to continuous improvement across systems, processes, and technology.
