The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Offender Management Officer to provide a critical role at the Metropolitan Remand Centre.
About the Business Unit
The Metropolitan Remand Centre is a 954-bed maximum-security facility for male offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice and Community Safety.
About the Role
The role of the Offender Management Officer at the Metropolitan Remand Centre is to act as a “change agent” by providing support and training to custodial staff regarding the caseworker's role at the Metropolitan Remand Centre. It operates under the guidance and direction of the Offender Management Supervisor.
The focus of this role will be to coach and mentor staff to achieve understanding of processes used in achieving quality case management. It promotes quality case management through ongoing monitoring combined with quality assurance compliance assessments. The role requires ongoing commitment to the continual development of local offender management processes and policy whilst maintaining alignment to Correction Victoria's Offender Management Framework.
