The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Offender Management Officer to provide a critical role at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre.
About the Business Unit
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria (CV), Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
As part of the CJS group, the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC) is a 649-bed maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety. DPFC recognises that women's pathway to offending is different to men and that women engaged in the criminal justice system often have a history of complex trauma. DPFC policies and procedures are gender responsive and based on Trauma Informed Practice principles.
About the Role
The role of the Offender Management officer at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre is to act as a “change agent” by providing support and training to custodial staff regarding the caseworker's role at DPFC. This position operates under the guidance and direction of the Offender Management Supervisor.
The main focus of this role will be to coach and mentor staff to achieve understanding of processes used in achieving quality case management. It promotes quality case management through ongoing monitoring combined with quality assurance compliance assessments. The role requires ongoing commitment to the continual development of local Offender Management processes and policy whilst maintaining alignment to Correction Victoria's ‘Offender Management Framework'.
This role does not require shift work. Successful incumbent will work Monday to Friday, 80 hours/fortnight roster.
