St Albans East Primary School is located in the well-established residential suburb of St Albans within the City of Brimbank and serves a culturally rich and diverse community. The school currently has an enrolment of 362 students across 16 classes, with an average class size of 22 students. The school's Student Family Occupation (SFO) index is 0.75, and 84% of students come from Language Backgrounds Other Than English (LBOTE).
The school proudly hosts the Primary Deaf Facility for Melbourne's western suburbs, supporting the specific learning needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. There are currently 9 students enrolled in the facility, supported by two Teachers of the Deaf and an Auslan interpreter. To further promote inclusion and communication, Auslan is taught as the school's Language Other Than English (LOTE).
St Albans East Primary School provides a comprehensive curriculum aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and is continuing to strengthen teaching and learning practices through the implementation of the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0.

1. Relevant critical experience and knowledge of paediatric OT and its implementation in a school setting. Along with experience and knowledge in supporting teaching teams to develop and deliver inclusive classroom practices.
2. Demonstrates ability to form collaborative partnerships with families, staff and community members from a range of professional and cultural backgrounds.
3. Demonstrates excellence in oral and written communication including developing relevant evidence-based goals for students to inform individual Education Plans and other support plans
4. Demonstrates ability to use initiative for problem solving, setting priorities within the caseload and time managements, which includes 1:1, small group and whole class practice.
5. Demonstrated experience and capability to plan, implement and support adjustments for students including developing support plans, and working with teachers to develop their teacher practice
The successful applicant will work alongside teachers, other allied health professionals and education support staff to identify goals, deliver assessment and establish programs around sensory processing, emotional regulation self-care and fine motor skills.
The successful applicant will offer Tier 1, Tier 3 and Tier 2 intervention and provide supportive documentation for Disability Inclusion Profile meetings.
The position is 2 or 3 days per week (8.45am to 4.30pm) and the candidate must have an Occupational Therapy qualification, a valid Working with Children Check and experience working with children.
The successful applicant will regularly consult with teachers and parents in relation to the progress of students
The successful applicant will provide written and verbal assessment and recommendation to teachers and parents where appropriate.
The successful applicant will work in conjunction with teaching teams to develop relevant evidence-based goals for students to inform Individual Education plan, classroom management and other support plans.
Will be a member of the Allied Health Team who is accountable for the development and delivery of key services that are integral to the effective operation of a school/s. Provides a range of services and/or undertakes the analysis of complex problems that form part of the policy framework.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
In addition to the above, the successful applicant will also:
Design, implement and evaluate therapy according to students¿ individual needs in collaboration with teaching staff
