The successful applicant will join the school's inclusion team and be responsible for the provision of occupational therapy interventions in a primary school setting. The inclusion team works collaboratively to identify and prioritise student needs across the school and the occupational therapist will be responsible for advising and providing professional judgement to the team and supporting the implementation of adjustments. The successful applicant will undertake a range of duties including, but not limited to: working alongside teachers, education support staff and allied health therapists to undertake classroom observations and provide reasonable recommendations to support student's access to the curriculum and their learning environment; working within the inclusion team to build the capacity of staff and students; supporting the building of student Disability Inclusion Profiles, including providing written recommendation reports, therapeutic assessments and supporting school staff to implement relevant adjustments; facilitating and delivering professional development to teachers and ES in order to build staff capacity within the school; providing best-practice, evidence-based, therapeutic interventions to students; and communicating relevant information to all stakeholders including families/carers, school staff, school leadership and regional teams.
