Applications are invited for the position of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Registrar at Northeast Health Wangaratta. There are four 2 positions available for the 2026 clinical year.
NHW is the major regional health service and specialist referral facility for Northeast Victoria. It serves a population of approximately 102,000,
performs over 6,500 procedures a year and has over 19,000 inpatient episodes and 30,000 Emergency Department attendances a year and approximately 700 births per year. We have onsite radiology, pathology and blood bank service. NHW provides a wide range of acute specialist medical and surgical services, an emergency department, critical care unit (ICU, HDU, CCU), obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, specialised aged care, medical oncology services, community rehabilitation, inpatient, community, aged and psycho-geriatric mental health services.
NHW has recently completed a major redevelopment, including the building of a new emergency department, ICU, and expansion of medical and paediatric units
The primary role of the O&G Registrar is to consolidate and enhance clinical skills in the provision of high quality patient care and develop collaborative relationships with other junior and senior medical staff and nursing, allied health and other support staff, to obtain the Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics.
The role of the trainee is to develop, consolidate and enhance clinical skills in the provision of high quality patient care and develop collaborative relationships with medical, surgical, anaesthetic, paediatric and psychiatric colleagues and senior staff as well as nursing and other support staff.
This position is RANZCOG & AST accredited and suitable for trainees who are interested in pursuing a career in General Practice and/or who are interested Rural Generalist training pathway through the Victorian Rural Generalist Pathway.
