About the role:
Surgical, Endoscopy and Anaesthesia Services are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated leader to take on a senior leadership opportunity as Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) of the Day Procedure Unit (DPU) at Sunshine Hospital.
The DPU delivers efficient, effective, and integrated care that is responsive to the needs of a culturally diverse patient population. The unit manages patients undergoing a range of day procedures, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, transoesophageal echocardiograms, elective cardioversion, flexible cystoscopy, minor plastic surgery procedures, and ECT therapy.
In addition, the DPU serves as the admission area for patients requiring surgery or procedures with an anticipated multi-day inpatient stay. The nursing team also contributes to the endoscopy on-call service. The unit comprises two procedure/endoscopy rooms, along with dedicated admission, recovery, and discharge areas.
Key responsibilities:
As NUM, you will be responsible for the operational, clinical, and professional leadership of the unit. This includes managing staff and resources, fostering effective multidisciplinary partnerships, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care.
