About the Role:
We’re looking for a dynamic Nurse Practitioner to join the team at Western Health Drug Health Services (DHS). This Specialist Addiction Service offers innovative and diverse programs for Adults, Women’s and Children’s Services, Youth and Family Services, Residential Withdrawal Services and Addiction Medicine Services.
The Nurse Practitioner role is grounded in the nursing profession’s values, knowledge, theories and practice and provides innovative and flexible health care delivery that complements other health care providers. The scope of practice of the Nurse Practitioner Candidate is determined by the context in which the Candidate is authorised to practice.
The Nurse Practitioner will be supported in achieving appropriate clinical experience and offered supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Nurse Practitioners at DHS provide specialist support to numerous AOD services including a busy outpatient opioid treatment clinic and the Addiction Medicine Consultation & Liaison Service.
The Nurse Practitioner will use advanced clinical nursing skills to deliver high quality AOD assessment and treatment to clients and families of DHS. This role also holds the following key components, working across the spectrum of potential AOD presentations:
