Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with physical disability and complex health needs.
2. Experience in the management of health emergencies applicable to a school setting or experience from other settings that is transferrable.
3. Knowledge and experience in supporting people with enteral feeds, compromised respiratory function, neurological conditions including epilepsy and common childhood illnesses.
4. Demonstrated aptitude in working collaboratively with the parents, carers and families of people with physical disabilities and other significant impairments (ie: cognitive, communicative, sensory).
5. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team as well as experience practicing independently.

Established in 1962, Belmore School is a specialist school catering for students who have a physical disability and/or significant health impairment requiring paramedical support.
Students have a wide range of intellectual abilities, and some have multiple disabilities and complex needs. All students are funded under the Program for Students with Disabilities or Disability Inclusion Framework. Located in Stroud Street Balwyn with a frontage on Belmore Road, Belmore School caters for students aged 5 to 18 years from a wide geographical area and a diverse socio-economic background from the northeast quadrant of metropolitan Melbourne. Many students have multiple disabilities with visual impairment, hearing impairment and epilepsy in addition to their physical disability. We also have students with high-support health care needs.
Belmore School has an extensive staff team comprising a principal, assistant principal, NDIS coordinator, Mental Health and Wellbeing practitioner, teachers and education support staff. Our staff are committed to delivering high quality learning programs through a multidisciplinary approach. Additional support programs are provided by a music therapist, school nurse, psychologist, therapists and eLearning co-ordinator. An attendant care team supports the personal care requirements of students in a sensitive manner in private, well-resourced facilities.
