About the Role
This role is located in the Youth Pathways & Transition Team, School Performance Division, North-Western Victoria Region, SRS. The Youth Pathways & Transition Team supports a broad range of processes and improvement projects designed to ensure effective pathways and transitions for young learners and vulnerable children 0-18.
The Navigator Coordinator plays a key role in the implementation of the Navigator program which funds community service organisations to provide intensive case management and assertive outreach to young people aged 12-17 years who are significantly disengaged from school and support them to return to education.
The Navigator Coordinator manages the relationship between the local external Navigator Providers, the department and other key services. This role facilitates referrals to the program in collaboration with regional teams and schools and engages in relevant data reporting processes to monitor re-engagement and outcomes for young people.

Working with the Navigator Practice Lead, they will also support the development and oversight of the strategic governance of the program, to identify broader opportunities to support the Navigator cohort and to ensure alignment with regional priorities.
The role requires an understanding of both community and education sectors, and how their systems operate to support young people and their families who face multiple, complex issues that may impact on their ability to engage with education.
