Euroa Secondary College is a small rural school located in the Shire of Strathbogie, that serves a student population of 272 students. The school is the only government secondary college in the region and services students from a 60km radius through eight bus routes. Our socio-educational profile of 0.4961 falls within the high range on the Student Family Occupation and Education (SFOE) index, reflecting a diverse mix of backgrounds.
At Euroa Secondary College, we are committed to fostering a supportive and high-achieving learning environment, guided by our core values of Challenge, Empowerment, Resilience, and Respect. These values underpin our efforts to provide a safe, engaging, and high-quality education that prepares students for their futures. The college aspires to be ¿a united community where everybody has responsibility in preparing youth for their future.¿ This vision drives our commitment to collaboration, inclusivity, and high expectations for all students.
The college operates with a structured leadership and staffing model. The college has 42.41 equivalent full-time (EFT) staff, including 2 Principal Class, 2 Learning Specialists, 3 Leading Teachers, 27.87 EFT teaching staff, and 14.54 EFT education support. In 2024, we further strengthened our support for student wellbeing and learning by appointing a Wellbeing Leader and a Mental Health Practitioner, complementing our existing wellbeing team, which includes a youth worker and an adolescent school nurse.
Our curriculum offers a broad selection of academic and vocational pathways, including VCE, VCE Vocational Major (VM), and VET programs, alongside traditional subjects. Our focus remains on explicit instruction, differentiation, and evidence-based teaching strategies, ensuring that all students are challenged and supported to reach their potential.
In 2025, the college has continued to build strong community connections, reinforcing our mission to be the school of choice in the region. Through a combination of innovative programs, dedicated staff, and engaged families, we strive to create a school environment where every student can succeed and thrive.
The Mental Health Practitioners (MHP) initiative was announced by the Minister for Education in late 2018 to expand mental health and wellbeing support in government schools. The initiative provides for a suitably qualified mental health professional in all government secondary school campuses and specialist school (with secondary-aged enrolments) settings.
