About the role:
The Media and Events Adviser is responsible for providing media relations advice, driving the creation of high-quality media content, and telling compelling stories about the impact of the Department of Health's work.
This role works in a complex and fast paced environment to deliver high-profile media announcements and events – and to effectively manage and mitigate media issues.
The incumbent will work closely with branch colleagues, ministerial offices, department executives and relevant business areas within the department to ensure communications material is clear, engaging, timely, and aligned to the department's strategic narrative and plan.
Reporting to the Head of Media, and working within a small portfolio-based team, the Media and Events Adviser will be required to produce a range a range of materials, including media releases, QAs, talking points and event briefs. At times, this will also include working on wider communications materials, such as fact sheets, newsletters, digital content, and communication campaigns.
