The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Manager - Workforce Services to provide a critical role within Barwon Southwest Prison Services.
About the Business Unit
The Barwon Southwest Prison Precinct incorporates four custodial facilities located 6km north-west of Lara, 20km's from the centre of Geelong and about 70km's from Melbourne. The four custodial facilities consist of two maximum security prisons, being HM Prison Barwon and Western Plains Correctional Centre, medium security prison Marngoneet Correctional Centre and Karreenga Annex. The BSW Prison Services team provides both operational and administrative services to HMP Barwon, Marngoneet Correctional Centre and the Karreenga Annex.
About the Role
The Manager - Workforce Services oversees the Human Resources and Workforce Development functions within the Barwon Southwest Prison Precinct. The Human Resources stream consists of the Rostering portfolio responsible for the assignment of staff resources to operational duties and the Recruitment portfolio. The Workforce Development portfolio is responsible for ensuring mandatory training qualifications are maintained throughout the workforce.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with various stakeholders, including a close working relations with each prison's leadership teams.
