Reporting to Director, Strategic Policy & Projects, the Manager will lead internal consultancy project teams and support other divisions to deliver high quality policy advice and strategic projects across the department. The role will provide clarity, insights and innovation in how the department shapes strategic solutions to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of Victorians. As part of an internal cross-department consultancy service, you will be responsible for leading and supporting project teams to research, develop and promote strategic health and cross-portfolio reform.
The Manager leads and delivers strategic projects. This includes working both within project teams and through flexible deployments within branches across the Department of Health to scope, define and research problems and develop evidence-informed and innovative solutions. This will often require the Manager to lead the synthesising of contemporary information, bespoke data analysis, and facilitating external and internal engagement to gain the support of key stakeholders to deliver the recommended solutions.

About you:
The role seeks high performing individuals with strong people management, policy development and implementation, stakeholder management, project management and communication skills. The role would be suited to individuals who are self-starters and are comfortable working with unfamiliar and complex issues, multidisciplinary teams and in collaboration with a range of senior internal, external and cross-government stakeholders, including clinical stakeholders. Consulting experience would be an advantage.
