About the role
The role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of efficient and effective shared services for Government which strengthen departmental decision-making and support strong risk management and assurance.
Managing a small team, the Manager of Strategic Audit and Assurance will develop and execute strategies to deliver a suitable assurance framework for DGS and its customers in line with the Standing Directions 2018 requirements.
Working in partnership across DGS this role will lead the development of a suitable assurance model for DGS that addresses the DGS and its customer risks and providing critical assurances around DGS and its customers' controls.
This role will also be responsible for leading a comprehensive audit assurance program from the appointment and management of an internal audit provider and for driving improved connection between assurance management and the risk management strategy..
This role will also be a trusted strategic adviser that will support the effective management of the DGS and customer Audit Committees by overseeing the Committee Secretariat function.
