About the Role:
The Manager, Specialist Inspections manages a highly experienced team of field-based multidisciplinary building and plumbing inspectors who are focused on complex and/or specialised and/or priority cases (including Class 2 buildings).
You'll lead a team of technical specialists who undertake field-based activities to support of the BPC's regulatory requirements and engage with practitioners to improve industry and enforce regulatory compliance. This multi-disciplinary team can be quickly mobilised and tactically deployed where the risk is high, and the need is greatest, to establish the BPC as a trusted regulator and to ensure practitioners deliver quality and compliant work that will protect consumers.
This role also provides specialist oversight and support to focus areas and ensure the team functions effectively to support the BPC's response to the Government's 10-year Housing Policy Statement with a focus on Class 2 buildings.

About the BPC
Established in 2025, the BPC is Victoria's new independent regulator for the building and plumbing i ndustries. The BPC brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.
Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation have come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance.
