The Opportunity
As Manager, Social Value and Inclusion, you'll lead how VicGrid partners with communities, government, industry and Traditional Owners to bring the Victorian Government's REZ benefit-sharing plan to life.
You'll shape meaningful initiatives that build trust and support for renewable energy and transmission projects, while also preparing clear, high-quality briefings for Ministers and key stakeholders. Along the way, you'll guide your team and work closely with external partners to turn ideas into real outcomes.
What you will deliver
- Lead place-based programs that deliver real social value for host communities, landholders and regions impacted by REZ development.
- Manage complex, fast-moving projects - navigating risks, solving problems early and keeping delivery on track.
- Identify and manage political and program risks, providing clear mitigation strategies and escalating where needed.
- Build strong relationships across government, industry, AEMO, communities and Traditional Owners to drive aligned outcomes.
- Shape and deliver monitoring, evaluation and reporting to track impact and continuously improve programs.
- Provide clear, strategic advice and briefings to Ministers, executives and stakeholders, translating complex ideas into practical action.
What you will bring
- An appropriate tertiary qualification in social policy, economics, law, project management or a similar field will be well regarded.
- Proven experience designing and delivering place - based social policy or programs that build community trust and support.
- Strong understanding of the renewable energy transition and the challenges that come with it (REZ, transmission, net zero).
- Confidence navigating government-policy, legislation and decision-making processes.
- A track record of delivering outcomes in complex, fast-moving environments with diverse stakeholders.
- The ability to engage respectfully and effectively with Traditional Owners and First Peoples communities
