The Opportunity
As Manager, Scheduling, you will play a critical leadership role in strengthening program certainty across VHBA’s complex health infrastructure portfolio. Working within the Cost Control function, you will provide expert planning, programming and scheduling advice to support successful project delivery from early planning through construction and completion.
Partnering closely with project directors, planners, project controls specialists, contractors and senior leaders, you will ensure project programs are robust, achievable and aligned with delivery objectives. You will provide authoritative advice on program risks, mitigation strategies and recovery planning, helping projects stay on track and supporting informed decision-making at senior levels.
This role offers the opportunity to lead best-practice scheduling approaches, contribute to continuous improvement across VHBA, and support the development of a high-performing scheduling capability within a major infrastructure delivery environment.
Key aspects of the role include:
Leading the development, review and assurance of detailed project and construction programs
Providing expert advice on program risks, critical paths, mitigation strategies and recovery planning
Monitoring project performance and reporting on schedule status, achievability and emerging issues
Reviewing and evaluating contractor tender programs and delivery schedules
Undertaking program health checks during delivery, including assessment of delays and extensions of time
Providing expert input into procurement documentation and time-related tender requirements
Building strong relationships with project teams, contractors and stakeholders to support transparent and effective program delivery
Identifying and driving improvements to scheduling practices, tools and reporting across VHBA
We are looking for:
A highly experienced planning professional with extensive experience across major building or social infrastructure projects
Demonstrated capability developing and assuring complex delivery programs across all project phases
Strong technical expertise in reviewing and interrogating contractor programs and construction schedules
Experience using scheduling and visualisation tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Asta Powerproject, Power BI, time chainage or staging diagrams
A confident communicator able to translate complex scheduling information into clear advice for senior stakeholders
A collaborative leader who builds trust across multidisciplinary teams and thrives in complex, fast-paced environments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline, or extensive relevant experience
Industry-recognised planning or project controls qualifications are highly regarded
