About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Director - EM Planning, Mitigation and Recovery, the Manager Recovery Policy sits within Resilience and Emergency Coordination Branch and is responsible for coordinating DTP’s contribution to state-wide recovery policy and reforms, and reporting on recovery efforts following major emergencies. The role will work closely within the Department of Transport (DTP) and other government agencies including Emergency Recovery Victoria to ensure that DTP’s emergency management obligations are met.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
The ideal candidate for the Manager, Recovery Policy, will lead the design and development of robust recovery policies by applying strong research and analytical skills to gather and critically assess data and evidence, ensuring policies are strategically aligned and responsive to stakeholder needs. You will apply critical thinking to navigate complex problems, drawing on existing guidelines or developing collaborative solutions when precedents are absent. Your ability to communicate with impact will be essential in delivering clear, concise, and engaging presentations tailored to diverse audiences, fostering understanding and support for policy initiatives. You will actively manage stakeholder relationships, ensuring collaboration, satisfaction, and resolution of issues while connecting individuals and teams to relevant areas across the organisation. Additionally, you will champion knowledge management and business continuity practices, embedding them in daily operations and supporting your team to maintain resilience and informed decision-making.
