An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Social Policy Group, Multicultural Affairs Branch, as a Manager, Priority Communities at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
Multicultural Affairs works in partnership with Victoria's diverse multicultural communities and brings together all the policy functions and program activity areas that drive the Victorian Government's policy agenda and commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaged and harmonious multicultural community in Victoria. The Division has two branches: Programs and Partnerships, and Policy.
As Manager of Priority Communities, you will use your outstanding leadership and people management skills to manage a team in delivering high quality policy advice and program delivery to support newly arrived and priority multicultural communities.
This role will lead on engagement with the Commonwealth Government on settlement policies and support the delivery of other key Victorian Government priorities such as the Victorian African Communities Action Plan and relevant election commitments. This includes engagement with the Victorian Multicultural Commission, multicultural and settlement sector peak bodies, community organisations and intergovernmental representatives.
The successful candidate will be required to lead complex multi-disciplinary projects and manage and develop a team in the preparation of high-quality briefs and written advice, including for the Minister for Multicultural Affairs and senior departmental executives.
You will work closely with other managers across Multicultural Affairs and the wider department to ensure policy and program design aligns with portfolio priorities. You will also be responsible maintaining relationships with stakeholders within the multicultural community and settlement sectors.
