The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Role
The Manager, Land Acquisition - Site Infrastructure manages a team which is responsible for the site investigations for land acquired for new schools and early childhood facilities, as well as advice for the school and early childhood portfolio on matters of contamination, cultural heritage, flora and fauna and environmental management.
The role is responsible for supporting the delivery of the land acquisition program for future government schools and early childhood facilities and will provide leadership on the VSBA's strategies for acquiring land and managing site related issues in order to meet specified timeframes
The role provides guidance and strategic support throughout the program lifecycle, as well as ensuring alignment with objectives in the relevant entity/group and across the department.
The role is fixed term for 3 years.
Attributes
-Understanding of the Victorian land and property legal system
-Property (land) related advisory experience
-Experience in project management, including in the construction field
-Experience in the implementation of Government land policy
-Experience in compulsory acquisition
-Experience in managing site issues including contamination, geotechnical, ecological and cultural heritage
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in Property or related field are highly desirable.
