About the Role
This is a fixed term full time position for up to 12 months.
The Department of Education is seeking a VPSG6 Freedom of Information (FOI) Manager to lead a dynamic team in a flexible work environment in the Assurance, Knowledge, and Executive Services Division.
The FOI Manager oversees the department's compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982, and is supported by two Team Leaders and together lead a team of FOI Officers and FOI support. The team works with all areas of the department managing multiple FOI requests, liaising with stakeholders and clients (including senior executives and regions) and engaging with and advising the department's program areas. The FOI Manager provides authoritative advice to internal stakeholders and oversees FOI appeals to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and reviews and complaints to the Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner.
The FOI Manager also oversees reporting and leads business improvement.
