The Opportunity
The Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis supports strategic decision-making at VicGrid through expert financial insight, planning, forecasting, and analysis. Leading a team of finance professionals, this role drives performance and provides trusted advice to guide business planning and outcomes.
The role also requires the utilisation of deep financial acumen with strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives for leaders across the business, as well as executive and Board audiences.
What you will deliver
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of service excellence and delivering trusted financial, advisory, and business support services across VicGrid.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting, ensuring alignment with organisational and government priorities and the effective allocation of resources.
- Provide strategic financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support data-driven decision-making and performance improvement.
- Enhance financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely month-end reporting in line with fiscal policies and to meet business and stakeholder needs.
- Ensure financial integrity and compliance through balance sheet reconciliations, journal management, and adherence to the Financial Management Act 1994.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, offering high-quality financial advice, coaching, and strategic insights to senior leaders and executive teams.
What you will bring
- Tertiary qualifications in a business, finance or related qualification, alongside a professional accounting qualification (CPA or CA), are required.
- Proven experience leading financial planning functions within a complex government, infrastructure, utilities or commercial environment.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, with demonstrated experience developing business cases, investment appraisals, scenario modelling and providing strategic financial advice to senior leaders.
- Proven stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence decision-making.
- Experience in supporting the delivery of energy or infrastructure projects highly regarded.
