The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Manager, Employment Pathways to provide a critical role within the Offender Services and Reintegration Branch of Corrections Victoria
About the Business Unit
Offender Services and Reintegration is responsible for providing best practice interventions which aim to reduce the risk of reoffending including case management, education and training prison industries and rehabilitation and reintegration supports, including job readiness support and employment pathways. The division contributes to a safer community by supporting a safe and humane corrections system that provides opportunities for rehabilitation, supports reintegration and works toward Aboriginal self-determination.
The Employment Pathways Team creates job opportunities for people in the justice system that contribute to meaningful rehabilitation and long term reintegration outcomes. The team work out of prison-based Employment Hubs as well as in community correctional services.
About the Role
The role of the Manager, Employment Pathways is to lead the Employment Pathways Team in effectively delivering on its portfolios in line with strategic government policy.
Reporting to the Director, Offender Services and Reintegration, the Manager will operationalise employment programs and services to ensure initiatives are contemporary and evidenced based.
Some of your duties will include:
Lead the Employment Pathways Team within Corrections Victoria and drive the delivery of a range of employment programs and service systems for people in prison, addressing high-level government reform and strategic priorities.
Lead a collaborative and integrated approach to vocational training and employment initiatives that identify synergies between the education and training, prison industries and employment pathways teams and other relevant business units to achieve better outcomes for people in prison and in the community.
Develop and manage strategic relationships with stakeholders, employers and other Government Departments to improve synergies and connections to employment initiatives.

A relevant tertiary qualification in employment or the social sciences is highly desirable.
