The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director Corporate Affairs, the Manager develops and implements strategic communication initiatives to enhance VicGrid's reputation and stakeholder relationships. The focus of this role will be on the day-to-day management of VicGrid publications relating to the Victorian Transmission Plan (VTP) and the Victorian Access Regime. It will enable clear messaging across all platforms, as well the creation, design and delivery of new, meaningful content for a variety of audiences, ensuring all communications and publications adhere to VicGrid guidelines.
What you will deliver
• Provide strategic oversight, governance and prioritisation, including issue and risk management, editorial governance, and accountability for the stakeholder intelligence operating model.
• Manage communication activities relating to VicGrid publications including the Victorian Transmission Plan (VTP) and access and connection policies.
• Manage correspondence between key stakeholders and VicGrid in relation to publication policies and legislation changes.
• Manage the delivery of written communications, ensuring high and consistent standards are maintained across all products and platforms.
• Oversee VicGrid's analysis of feedback and submissions to ensure insights are integrated into communications planning and future engagement design.
• Ensures the interests and priorities of different stakeholders are considered in the development of VicGrid communications materials and activities.
• Develops positive and constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, with a view to enhancing VicGrid's reputation.
• Apply strong strategic skills with the ability to align communication strategies with organisational goals.
What you will bring
• Prior experience operating in a similar role in government on a major project with political sensitivities is highly desirable. Ideally, previous experience in government in a Corporate Affairs role or a background in journalism.
• A track record in the creation, editing and publishing of strategic documentation which facilitates communication and enables the progression of major projects.
• Experience with managing correspondence involving key stakeholders.
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail, and a willingness and ability to apply practical skills where necessary to get the best results.
• Demonstrable experience in managing and delivering publications and corporate affairs strategies and materials through a wide variety of channels and platforms – preferably inside or close to government.
• Experience in supporting the delivery of energy or infrastructure projects highly regarded.
