About the role:
The Manager, Consumer Engagement and Partnerships leads Safer Care Victoria's clinician and consumer engagement strategies, with a strong focus on embedding lived and living experience of both patients and health professionals into the design and delivery of safety improvement across the Victorian health system. The role supports the implementation of SCV's relationship model with the Department of Health and health services, and builds trust, transparency, and shared ownership of safety solutions.
The role is responsible for the development of systems and processes to improve the use of healthcare experience information, including complaints raised with Safer Care Victoria, the Minister's Office, and in collaboration with the Health Complaints Commissioner. This team will also lead the implementation and continued development of the Partnering in Healthcare Framework. This work informs quality and safety improvements at both service and system levels and strengthens the alignment of SCV's engagement functions with broader safety objectives.
The Manager leads the delivery of inclusive engagement initiatives such as consumer forums and co-production activities that influence policy, frameworks, capability-building programs, and safety improvement initiatives. The role also involves direct communication with consumers, families, clinicians, senior health service executives, Members of Parliament, and government stakeholders, preparing briefings and correspondence for the Minister for Health, Secretary of the Department of Health, and SCV's Chief Executive Officer.
