About the Role
The Program Manager is responsible for leading a team of staff that make up the Community and Regional Engagement Unit, Koorie Outcomes Division. This Unit is responsible for the coordination and delivery of culturally informed projects, programs and guidance aligned to the vision of the Marrung: Aboriginal Education Plan, including:
- Implementation of strategies, programs and resources that support cultural understanding across the education system
- Delivery of professional learning and support for the Koorie Education Workforce
- Delivery of key projects and programs, such as the Koorie Conversations Conference, cultural safety and inclusion training and professional learning for schools and principals, anti-racism initiatives, and Aboriginal- specific schools and early childhood programs.
- Managing contracts with external service providers, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
Attributes
The role requires extensive stakeholder engagement with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and Traditional Owner groups, schools and early childhood services, and regional and corporate staff.
The successful candidate will have significant stakeholder management and relationship building experience, a developed understanding of practices that align to self-determination in the context of the school and early childhood system, and strong people and program management skills and experience.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential: Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal self-determination and ability to engage effectively with First Nations people.
Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in Education
