The Communication and Engagement Branch leads VECRA's strategic communications, public affairs, and media function.
The Branch manages media relations, communications, stakeholder engagement, digital channels, branding, and public affairs for the Regulatory Authority – overseeing timely regulatory communications to the early childhood education and care sector, workforce, and community.
The team works closely with VECRA's Interim Regulator, Chief Executive Officer, and leadership team, providing strategic advice to shape coordinated communications and engagement that are aligned with VECRA's legislative responsibilities and organisational priorities.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director Communications and Engagement, the Manager leads a small team that leads on VECRAs strategic communications, and is responsible for providing specialist communications advice to leaders across VECRA, ensuring strategic alignment across various workstreams.
Central to this role is the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external. The role works collaboratively with other branches across VECRA to ensure effective coordination and alignment.
Working closely with program areas across VECRA, the role helps lead the development of impactful regulatory communications to the sector and community members, the updating of VECRA's website, helping to manage stakeholder engagement
As appropriate, you may also be required to provide support across VECRA as and when required, including participating in out of hours media and providing support to other high priority projects.

The incumbent will display strong strategic capability and communications expertise, working as part of the Corporate Division's leadership team and collaborating with senior staff across VECRA to ensure that our communications are clear, engaging and support the sector being able to comply with the law, as well support the strategic objectives of VECRA.
