About the Role:
We are seeking Manger BPC Support to join the Office of the State Building Surveyor on a fixed‑term basis through to 30 June 2027.
The Manager, BPC Support provides expert technical advice in the delivery of State Building Surveyor functions, with a focus on delivering advice and support to the Building and Plumbing Commission on the performance of their statutory functions.
As manager within the BPC support team, this role leverages extensive subject matter expertise to deliver a range of activities to support BPC such as, the assessment of buildings against safety and compliance standards, navigating statutory referrals such as s33 and Building Orders, the management of audit, inspection and rectification processes for complex buildings, complaint escalations, and providing authoritative technical advice and stakeholder support.
The Manager, BPC Support combines technical building surveying expertise with strategic oversight to enhance BPC capabilities and ensure community safety. This role leads an expert technical team and is pivotal in fostering collaboration between the Office of the State Building Surveyor and other units with BPC to enhance building safety and compliance standards.

Established in 2025, the BPC is Victoria's new independent regulator for the building and plumbing industries. The BPC brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.
Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation have come together under one roof , including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance.
