The Group also manages and supports the State’s financial reporting framework and whole-of-state financial information management systems, supporting financial reporting across the Victorian public sector. In addition, the Group provides expert advice on accounting and financial reporting issues to support informed government decision-making and ensures the State meets its parliamentary and statutory reporting obligations.
About the roleKey responsibilities of this role include leading the end-to-end management of complex financial reporting and reform projects and providing strategic and commercially-grounded accounting advisory services to senior executives and stakeholders across the Victorian Public Sector, leading the planning and implementation of new and amended accounting standards for Victorian public sector, managing finance capability building initiatives, managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships on financial reporting policy matters, contributing to Victoria’s sustainability reporting framework development and implementation and the independent quality assurance on the State’s major financial publications.
