THE ROLE
The Manager, Office of the Secretary, leads a small, high performing team which plays a critical role in supporting organisational governance and ensuring the Secretary is provided with high quality, accurate and strategic advice across the department's business and policy portfolios.
The Manager works closely with the Director, Office of the Secretary and Governance, to manage the end-to-end functioning of the Office, ensuring effective coordination of accountabilities and responses including briefings, correspondence, senior meetings management, planning, executive coordination and corporate reporting.
The Manager identifies and drives whole of system improvements, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the Office and across the department. The Manager is responsible for leading projects in accordance with the Secretary's priorities.
Are you:
- Able to think through complex information to identify potential risks in a time-pressured environment?
- Highly skilled at providing responsive, considered advice and high-level support to senior executives?
- An excellent communicator, with high level written and verbal communication skills?

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Effectively manage and provide leadership to team members in the Office of the Secretary by:
- leading and supporting individuals to achieve their potential and contribution to organisational goals and outcomes
- modelling behaviours integral to good people management and departmental values
- where relevant, managing and monitoring specific improvement objectives in annual improvement plans relating to the area of responsibility
- pro-actively building and maintaining positive relationships with peers and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Manage and provide quality assurance across briefings, correspondence and other written materials for senior executive governance, Secretary and Ministerial decision.
- Provide timely, high-quality consolidated strategic advice and executive support to the Secretary on a wide range of issues related to the Department's business
and portfolios.
