THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity exists for an outstanding, talented and passionate individual to join the leadership team in the Office for Youth within the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
The Manager, Office for Youth role will work across a variety of areas in policy development, program design and management and grants management for the Youth portfolio to develop and deliver high quality strategic advice and support to improve outcomes for young people across Victoria.
The successful candidate will prepare, oversee and ensure the delivery of high-quality strategic advice for the Minister for Youth, the Secretary and senior executives. You will also lead delivery of a range of youth programs that strengthen youth engagement and participation. These initiatives include place-based approaches that support disadvantaged young people to achieve their goals and aspirations.
You will be responsible for building effective relationships across government and non-government sectors to support high-quality decision making, formulation of options and advice on emerging issues to improve outcomes for young Victorians. The role requires a proactive self-starter with a good understanding of government processes including budget, performance and program delivery risks, and an ability to work in a complex, sensitive and fast paced environment.
