The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

About the Role
This is a VPSG6 Fixed Term role until 14 April 2028, reportinginto the Head of Finance and Business Systems.
The Information Technology Systems and Data (ITSD) Manager leads the development and delivery of IEPD's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities, digital standards, and strategic objectives.
The role provides strategic and operational oversight of the Victorian International Students Information Tool (VISIT), the division's core platform supporting enrolment and case management for international students in Victorian government schools. VISIT is used by IEPD staff, schools, families, and education agents, and supports compliance activities under the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) framework as well as financial processes integrated with departmental systems such as CASES21 and Oracle Cloud.
The ITSD Manager leads a multidisciplinary technical team responsible for system performance, issue management, and continuous improvement of VISIT. The role acts as the platform's technology owner, working closely with the Information Management and Technology Division (IMTD) and business areas to prioritise enhancements, maintain system stability, and support its transition to the department's enterprise technology platform. The position also leads the division's data analytics function, ensuring strong data governance, reporting, and insights to support operational performance, compliance, and strategic decision-making.
As part of the divisional leadership team, the role plays a critical stewardship function contributing to the strategic direction and operational efficiency of the whole division.
