THE ROLE
Reporting to the Head of Strategic Communications, the Manager leads a team to deliver the strategic planning, delivery and oversight of strategic and multi-channel communications that support government and department priority initiatives, campaigns and projects.
Strategic Communications teams set the strategic communications direction for priority projects and key programs, policies and State Budget initiatives and play a key coordination role across all the Public Engagement Branch. You will work with the digital and social, media and events and advertising teams to ensure delivery of end-to-end communications: for example, advertising, workforce campaigns, roadmaps, grants, honours and awards, strategies, commissions and major sector events.
The Manager leads the planning, coordination and implementation of priority communications, advertising, key events, engagement and change activities.
You will play a lead role in building relationships with ministerial offices, business and program areas, key external stakeholders and across the central Public Engagement branch. The role works closely with the media and events managers.
A senior member of the branch, you will apply your communications expertise and insight to identify emergent risks and issues and collaborate to ensure a consistent, integrated and innovative approach to communications, content and creative development
You are a senior member of the Strategic Communications team in the Public Engagement Branch and work collaboratively with other staff in the branch to support portfolio priorities. You will work with the Head Of role to build high performing communications team.
