About the role
The Management Effectiveness Officer supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of monitoring frameworks and programs that assess the condition of parks, reserves, and designated waterways, and evaluate the effectiveness of management strategies and plans. This role contributes across the Management Effectiveness Branch and broader division to improve evidence-based decision-making by collecting, analysing, and reporting on environmental, cultural, and visitor asset conditions.
The officer assists in maintaining consistent monitoring protocols and standards that align with state and national frameworks, and supports the preparation of performance dashboards, reports, and decision-support tools that inform adaptive management, prioritisation, and investment planning. The role also contributes to the collection and analysis of visitor data, helping to ensure that management actions are responsive to community needs and park usage trends.
In addition, the Management Effectiveness Officer provides technical advice, supports capability development across the Management Effectiveness Branch and broader organisation, and works collaboratively with internal teams, Traditional Owners, and external partners to ensure monitoring outcomes are robust, inclusive, and strategically aligned with Parks Victoria's goals.
