SC1. Demonstrated ability to maintain buildings, gardens and grounds with an ability to carry out repairs and maintenance to school facilities as required.
SC2. Demonstrated proficiency in the safe use of equipment as relevant to the position eg. carpentry tools, power tools, gardening equipment (ride on lawn mower and trimmers) and ability to complete maintenance on same.
SC3. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to ensuring all relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations are adhered to and implemented with an ability to also identify and manage risk.
SC4. Demonstrated ability to implement preventative maintenance schedules, service small equipment/fixtures within competence limits, identify issues early, and appropriately escalate/coordinate licensed trades when required.
SC5.Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and positively with a range of people including school staff, students, parents and the wider community while working independently and without constant supervision. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills in individual and group contexts.

Greenhills Primary School requires a multi-skilled individual who can attend to a range of maintenance and some grounds/gardening tasks across our school. The maintenance and improvement of our infrastructure is a priority and we require a dedicated, hard working individual to join our team. Skills/Qualifications in one or more trades is highly desirable, but not essential.
This position description describes in general terms the normal duties which the Education Support Maintenance Person could be expected to undertake over time. However, the duties described may vary or be amended from time to time without changing the level of responsibility associated with the position.

This Position is one day per week - 7.6 hours per day, however we are flexible if you wanted to split this over two days.
We are also flexible with the working day. If working one full day the hours would be 8am to 4.06pm with half an hour unpaid lunch and 15 minutes paid break at recess.

Greenhills Primary School, established in 1962, is situated in a quiet residential location between the north-eastern Melbourne suburbs of Greensborough and Diamond Creek, within the municipality of Nillumbik. The location of the school, on a well maintained grassed and treed site provides a geographic and social centre for the community. The current school enrolment is 475 students.
