1. Demonstrated experience in a trade area, or building/grounds maintenance.
2. Demonstrate sound and safe working knowledge of hand and power tools and the ability to efficiently undertake general handyperson tasks, repairs and maintenance to the interior and exterior of buildings and grounds with the school.
3. A strong and proactive work ethic and a sense of pride in efficiently completing work to a high standard in a timely fashion.
4. The ability to follow directions, accept feedback and work independently or as part of a team.
5. Ability to communicate and cooperate effectively with tradespeople, suppliers and colleagues.
6. Possession of a current Victorian motor vehicle licence. Licences for other vehicles, plant and equipment would be an advantage.

The Maintenance and Grounds personnel are responsible to the Operations Manager. This role is responsible for the provision of services, which adds value to the schools operations and programs. The Maintenance/Grounds Officer is a member of the Maintenance team with a functional responsibility to the Operations Manager on a day-to-day basis. The Maintenance/Ground Officer has a key role in ensuring well-maintained buildings and grounds throughout the college. The role will require working across all campuses.
The role will require working at all of our campuses. Knowledge is expected in the operation of various grounds and buildings maintenance tools and will demonstrate organisational skills, will comply with School and DET policies and procedures, and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
The responsibilities of the Maintenance/Grounds Officer will include, but not limited to:
Maintain college grounds, buildings and equipment
Landscaping and gardens:
Identify, report, and where appropriate, action risks/hazards in order to eliminate or mitigate against the risk recurring (Risks arising in the workplace may be financial, site, task, or person specific or related to safety.)
Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
