About the Role:
This is a Full Time ongoing role within the Medical Imaging Department - MRI. As part of the Division of Surgery, this position exists to provide a quality imaging service to patients and referrers. As a Grade 3 MRI Technologist (MRT), the required role includes performing paediatric MRI and to expand and improve current skills – as per attached position description.
As a Grade 3 MRT, the required role includes performing MRI at a senior level and to expand and improve skills. It is expected the Grade 3 MRT applies specialist MRI skills.
Under the direction of the Chief MRT and Allied Health Manager – Medical Imaging, the role contributes to the ongoing care of paediatric patients in spheres of diagnosis, disease monitoring and treatment. The goal is to maintain a consistent high standard of imaging in order to succeed in producing reliable, timely and important results which really make a difference.
The Royal Children’s Hospital, together with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) have Siemens Sola 1.5T and Siemens Prisma-Fit 3T units in a purpose built MRI clinical and research facility. In the operating theatre suite there is an IMRIS Verio Dot. A Siemens Biograph mMR MR/PET is part of the suite of equipment, making the RCH a state of the art MRI facility. The position requires participation in the weekend and after hour’s rosters as well as some on-call after a suitable training period.
