We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
The Life Event Data Lead is accountable for fostering and maintaining key stakeholder relationships, and for ensuring that necessary operational guidance is in place, to enable DGS to effectively and efficiently share information and data necessary to fulfill Births Deaths and Marriages Registry functions.
The role leads work to ensure strategic partnerships with external organisations and agencies increase access to and effective use of BDM data. This includes representing the department in internal and external fora as well as directly fostering strong relationships with critical stakeholders.
The role provides expert advice on the ways in which individual datasets can be transformed into powerful strategic intelligence, harnessing the social and business value of BDM's data, while ensuring compliance with regulations, standards and codes of practice relating to information and documentation, records management, information assurance and release, and data protection. The role is responsible for the development of structures, frameworks and processes to ensure the capture, storage, security, preservation, disposal, accessibility, reporting and quality of organisational data.
